Lipsy, Drag Queens, and SEX oh my!

Yesterday Lainey and I were fortunate enough to be a part of a small group of our classmates that were invited to go tour the Lipsy offices www.lipsy.co.uk/ Lainey, Chelsea, Katie, our teacher Erin and I all went. We thought it would be a quick tour and that we would hear a little bit about Lipsy while we were there. We were wrong in the best way possible. We met Kristi the Retail Operations Manager of Lipsy. We sat down for tea and biscuits with her while she told all us about the company and all about her background. We then got to go on a tour and see everything there, including where the designers were working which was top secret so we could not take any pictures. That was my favorite part of the tour :) Kristi was awesome and let us pick her brain forever! She also gave us all press kits and goodie bags :) I will have to put the photos into the next post because the computer is not being friendly at the moment.

After class we had some free time and Lainey and I did laundry. Super exciting. When the laundry party ended we got all gussied up and went out to see some drag queens. We saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert which was AMAZING! The costumes were over the top gorgeous and so much fun. We were sing and dancing and probably looked pretty silly the whole time, but we had fun. The show was great, and I would see it again. The show was followed by delicious cheese-less pizza :)

And that brings us to oh so glorious Thursday. The day we all got to travel to King's Road. The day that Cydney had a kool-aid smile pretty much the entire day. We went to Vivienne Westwood's shop World's End which is the original site of SEX, the store from the beginning. It was silly but I got choked up walking around inside the store. There were a few framed seditionaries shirts up on the wall but no photos were allowed unfortuantely. I do have pictures of the outside, but once again they will have to wait. After the most glorious store ever, we walked around meandering through the shops and down Sloane Street until we reached Harvey Nichols. The store had Alexander McQueen dresses on display so that was cool to see. We went upstairs and had a tea with everyone. It was fun to eat little scones and drink from our own individual tea pots. Our tea was followed by a tour of the store which is enormous. Not as huge as Harrods but still impressive. Lainey and I spent a good chunk of time with the hats and watched a few ladies as they tried on some very silly hats for Ascot.

Sorry about the pictures this time, hopefully I can get them downloaded by tomorrow. Miss everyone!
